Getting Started with Wavetype

Wavetype turns your audio and video files into text, powered by AI. It's extremely fast, accurate, and easy to use — and free for up to 3 files per day.

1. Upload a file

Drag and drop an audio or video file, record from your microphone, or paste a URL. We support all common formats including MP3, MP4, M4A, MOV, WAV, and more.

2. Choose a language and mode

Select the audio language (or let us detect it automatically) and pick a transcription mode. Whale maximizes accuracy and is the default.

3. Edit, translate, and export

Click anywhere in the transcript to play the audio at that point. Edit the text inline, translate to 134+ languages, and export to TXT, DOCX, PDF, or subtitles.
